Welcoming the Year of the Horse: Nian Gao with a vibrant twist!

As a fun spin on the traditional Chinese New Year cake Nian Gao flavoured simply with raw cane sugar, I have infused it with the delicious flavour of pandan. The light vanilla-coconut aroma was delicious and gave the cake an extra depth of flavour, not to mention dyeing the cake a vibrant shade of green!

Of course, it wouldn’t be Nian Gao without the ubiquitous dried red date in the center…



This version of Nian Gao tastes so good, will be from now on added onto my Chinese New Year repertoire!
